Plastic Security Seals are used to mechanically secure a variety of applications. This type of seal is frequently referred to as an “Indicative seal” as they “indicate” tampering. They are designed solely to show evidence of tampering and are not a security device but rather a visual indicator of tampering and a theft deterrent.
Typical applications include truck doors, trailer doors, totes, valves, airline catering carts, coin bags, inner drum bags, storage bags, and any container with a hasp or loops. Plastic security seals are normally manufactured in two styles; adjustable or fixed length.
Adjustable length seals can fit many applications from securing the neck of a bag or mail sack to sealing chemical drums, first aid kits and fire extinguishers. Fixed-length seals tend to be more tamper resistant than variable length as there are no sliding parts, they simply 'click' into place to lock, which can make them easier to fit than variable length seals. All plastic security seals can also be branded, numbered and/or barcoded for extra security.
